10th & 11th and 17th & 18th April 2021
The LDSA is really pleased to be able to start sailing courses again,
and first on the list is the four-day Family RYA Level 1 & 2 course which will run on April 10th & 11th and 17th & 18th -
the usual cost is £200 per person but we're running this for £150 per person because of the short notice and continued
restrictions on some of our normal activities. Booking can be online here or you can confirm
with Jo Woodhouse and send a cheque to our treasurer.
Restrictions affecting the course:-:
- The clubhouse, including the showers, will be off limits, except for the disabled toilet
(shower available here for emergencies only) so course participants will need to come ready
dressed for sailing and with packed food and drink, towels and 'easy to change into' dry gear.
- No need to wear masks for sailing but social distancing is still in force.
- The course will be held in single-handers - we wouldn't normally put family members
together for teaching anyway but single-handers might be difficult for anyone of large stature,
arthritic or of a very fearful disposition.
- The theory elements of the course will be taught outside or,
in the event of atrocious weather, through some sort of technology or paper copy.
Other than that, the usual bad weather warning applies of course - if it is unfit for sailing for any length of time,
we'll make that up at a mutually convenient date.
Joining instructions for the course are online here.
To ensure that we can cater for any additional needs you may have, please complete a Medical Declaration form with your booking
You can either and bring it with you to hand to the Senior Instructor on the first day or forward it with your booking form.
Please be assured that any information given will be treated in the strictest
confidence and all records destroyed at the end of the course.
If you're having trouble viewing any of the forms then you can download them from the links below:

We hope that our courses later on in the year (details are here on the website) will run as normal ...
but who knows how things will develop over the summer!
